Brademixx 2012

Spring has sprung, and that means only one thing: this year’s mix tape has arrived. My rules for assembling such a compilation are now customary: under 80 minutes, with no artist or album appearing more than once. Listen and be mesmerized:

This time around, MOG (and other such services) supplied hidden gems aplenty. The opening track “Lexicon” in particular embodies nearly everything I love about music—even the album cover’s energetic pooch makes me happy. Other newfound favorites include tracks from Clark, Toddla T, and Burial, all of whom are decidedly on point.

A few of my most revered artists have returned to the fray as well. Plaid, Alice In Chains, and Cold Storage each contribute in legendary fashion, with the world’s finest chanteuse Bjork even making a surprise appearance of her own. As usual, the tracks are split fairly evenly between those with vocals and those without. Enjoy this mix, everyone. You have earned it (?)
